This is my first post on Allergy and Eczema.
There has been so much information in my head the last four years, I don't even know a good way to begin.
In 2004, my husband and I had our first daughter. Within four months after birth, we found out she had food allergies. As a mother I was horrified to find out our daughter was allergic to my breast milk. Specifically, she was allergic to some of the foods I ate. We took Kasie to see Dr. Paul Ehrlich in Manhattan. He came highly recommeded by our pediatrician, Dr. Rob Saken at Soho Pediatric Group. With blood and skin testing, we found out Kasie was allergic to the following:
caesin
egg white
peanut
dander
grass
dust
mold
But we were told to avoid all tree nuts, shellfish, fish, and grass all together. So I tried my best do avoid all these things, quitting cold turkey. I will never forget - ! lost 15 pounds in one month. It was great for me, still had a little pregnancy fat on me, so I was feeling great. However, our little girl was still having rosy cheeks all the time. Her cheeks were rosy red, weepy and a little on the scabby side all at the same time.
So began my internet research on food allergies...
